“Thoroughly cooking foods of animal origin such as shellfish reduces the risk of food borne illness. Individuals with certain health conditions such as liver disease, chronic alcohol abuse, diabetes, cancer, stomach blood or immune disorders may be at higher risk if these foods are consumed raw or undercooked. Consult your physician or public health official for further information.”

It is Mobjack Bay Seafood’s policy to sell only the freshest and finest shellfish available. It is the consumer’s responsibility to properly care for them upon arrival. All products must be refrigerated above 32°F and below 45°F to provide safe consumption up to 7 days. DO NOT store in ice water as that may contaminate the shellfish. DO NOT eat any raw shellfish unless the shells are tightly closed. DO NOT eat any shellfish that has an upleasant odor upon opening.
